I want to share that our library is coordinating with local organizations to create a literary arts festival in Southwest Michigan.

The Pulp & Press Lit Arts Festival will occur during April 24th and 25th, 2026. This two-day literary arts festival in the Village of Vicksburg is intended to promote literacy through its unique forms including written and spoken word, illustration, and performance.

Collaborating in planning the festival are Vicksburg Arts, The Prairie Ronde Artist Gallery/Residency, Gilbert and Ivy Booksellers, Vicksburg District Library, and the Village of Vicksburg.

Kimm Mayer, planning committee lead, expressed that the festival, “Makes reading and literacy accessible to everybody by introducing people to authors and activities in a fun and relaxed environment.” The committee intends this festival to be the first literary festival in Southwest Michigan and will occur annually.
