Dear Library Directors, Trustees, Institution Administrators, and Library Users,

The State Librarian’s Excellence Award application deadline has been extended through September 19.

The State Librarian’s Excellence Award recognizes a Michigan Library that best exemplifies excellence in customer service. Roger Mendel is the sponsor the $2,000 cash prize awarded to the winning library. Additionally, the Foundation provides two $500 cash prizes given to the runners-up recognized with Citations of Excellence. All three award-winners will receive trophies for public display.

The criteria is described on the attached nomination form. Winners will be announced at the State Librarian’s Luncheon on Thursday, October 16, 2014, during the 2014 Michigan Library Association Annual Conference in Grand Rapids.

Library directors, trustees, library users, or administrators may make nominations. See the nomination form for details of submission requirements.
