This weekly Friday webinar is open to all.

Webinar Series: What is a Library if the Building is Closed?

Join us as we explore: internet access, digital services, physical materials & social infrastructure

Friday's Topic:

What role can libraries play in support of students and families caught in a terrible bind between not working and not being at a school building?

... noting that educational institutions are approaching a crisis point in trying to open for the fall... as the pandemic numbers increase

Friday 7/10  11am ET

Note: Session runs for 1 hr with Q&A for 1/2 hr following. [Session is recorded. Q&A is not]

Speakers:

Eddy Smith, Texas 2020 Librarian of the Year, and Abilene Library Consortia Director. Eddy is a state leader on broadband as part of the state broadband commission. Libraries at the table. Imagine!

Dianne Connery, of the Pottsboro Library has a compelling plan to partner with a local wireless provider to use EBS to reach students at home who otherwise lack access. Pottsboro just scored #1 in state CARES grant money out of 116 applicants! How'd they do that?

How do they do that?!  What’s their secret for success? Collaborations!  Easy to say. Hard to do!
