Meet your local authors and learn about the books they wrote. Local authors are invited to bring their books to autograph and sell. So far the following authors are available: Laura Kemp, Sandra Bedka, Jade Heffington, Kim Stafford and Guy Martin. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to everyone. If you are a creative student in grades 5th through 12th and attend Hartford schools, you can enter the Hartford Public Library 2022 Teen Creative Writing Contest. There are four categories: comic art, flash fiction, poetry and artwork(cover art). There are two groups: 5th grade to 8th grade and 9th grade to 12th grade. Each group will be eligible to win one of three awards in each category. First prize is $100, second is $75 and third is $50. All entries are due by October1, 2022 to the library. They can be emailed to hartfordlib@yahoo.com or delivered to the library.
