The U.S. response to Japanese expansionism in China, S.E. Asia, and the Pacific resulted in the firebombing of virtually all of Japan's cities. Despite the destruction, the Japanese government refused to surrender. President Truman ordered the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, causing the surrender of Japan and the end of World War II in the Pacific. Military historian Professor Don Borsand will join us on Thursday, May 26 at 6 pm in the Warren Civic Center Library Conference room to present on this historic event.

Please call 586-574-4564 to register for any of these programs.
