BRANCH MANAGER: Muskegon Area District Library is looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to lead our North Muskegon (Walker Memorial) Branch. The North Muskegon Branch is one of the busiest of our ten (10) branches and is in the preliminary phase of a building project. This branch has a vibrant, active Friends group

 

REQUIREMENTS: MLS from an ALA accredited university, possession of Michigan Librarian’s Professional Certificate or the qualifications to obtain one.  Minimum of three (3) years experience as a professional Librarian preferably at a public library. Supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of current library trends and professional practices and excellent computer skills are a plus.

 

DUTIES: Under the supervision of the MADL Director, manages all phases of a branch library. Assesses community needs  and plans programs. Trains, supervises, evaluates and schedules staff. Builds and maintains appropriate collection of materials. Works with the Friends of the Library to promote community relations.

 

This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, includes evenings and weekend hours.

 

The Muskegon Area District Library has ten (10) branches and an administrative headquarters. Muskegon is located on Michigan’s West Coast known for its beautiful beaches and abundant outdoor activities. It is also home to a world class art museum and symphony orchestra. It is located only 30 minutes from Grand Rapids which is number one on Lonely Planets’ List of the Top 10 US Destinations for 2014and is home of Art Prize the world’s largest art competition.

 

Pay range: $38,460 to $45,635 plus a generous benefit package.
