THE GREAT READING ADVENTURE

The Great Reading Adventure http://greatreadingadventure.com/is a robust, open source software designed to manage library reading programs. It is free to use, modify and share!

The goal is to make web-based literacy experiences better for endusers and for administrators. You’ll be able to award digital badges and offer an online reading log to your participants with a customizable interface. You’ll also be able to upload adventures, events, booklists, activities, ebooks and get fully detailed reports about your program. Most importantly, you’ll be able to determine your impact on literacy by using the embedded assessment module.

The Great Reading Adventure was developed by the Maricopa County Library District with support by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Subject: [Michlib-l] Summer Reading software

Do you use special software for your summer reading program? If so, do you use it to register participants and track activity?  I am interested in who the company is, what the software can do, the price and if you are pleased with the service. Please respond off-list.

I appreciate any input you can provide.

Thank you,
