Over a few weeks in February, our Adult Services Department wrapped books in brown wrapping paper and provided a brief description from the book on an attached tag so they were checking out a book knowing very little about it (no title or author) We did a similar thing during our 25th anniversary at Civic Center Library. Those books were from donations so the patron got to keep the book they selected.
