(Traverse City) - The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) is pleased to announce that Melissa McKenna is now the Assistant Director for Outreach & Adult Services. McKenna joined TADL in September, 2019 as Head of Adult Services at the Main Library on Woodmere Avenue.

In this new role she will continue to direct all efforts for library visitors 18 and over, while also assuming outreach duties. This includes fostering effective relationships with community groups and other agencies related to literacy, and coordinating those partnership and outreach efforts across departments. Look for her throughout the community in the TADL Bookmobile!

McKenna has a Masters in Library Science from Clarion University and over 30 years experience in public libraries, including 26 years at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. When she’s not at the library she enjoys reading, cooking and exploring beautiful northwest Michigan.
