Internet for All: Michigan Local Coordination Workshop
Greetings,
My name is Eric Frederick, and I am the new
Chief Connectivity Officer leading the Michigan High-Speed Internet (MIHI) Office at the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. While my tenure in this position just began, I am excited to work with you and the myriad of other communities, organizations,
non-profits, and internet service providers to ensure every Michigander can access the internet to improve their quality of life.
One of first things I want to do is invite you to an
event on August 18th that the MIHI Office is hosting in partnership with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration:
The
Internet for All: Michigan Local Coordination Workshop
Join community leaders, federal representatives, and staff from the Michigan High-Speed Internet Office on August 18th at this
free event to learn about critical programs to expand broadband infrastructure and digital equity throughout the state. During this day-long summit, discussions will include local government and community needs, legislative and program updates, working
with industry, data collection and mapping, and supply chain and talent needs, among others.
Connecting all Michiganders to affordable, reliable high-speed internet is critical to our economic stability and this event will provide an opportunity for us to discuss ways we can work together to efficiently and effectively utilize
broadband funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and other federal broadband dollars to the maximum extent.
I encourage you to forward this invitation to others in your network and your organizational members.
I look forward to working with you and hope to see you on
August 18th.
Eric Frederick
