Position: Programming Coordinator, Part-time
Reports to: Head of Information Services
Job Duties:
·
Plan, prepare, and execute monthly library events including the gathering of necessary resources, development of themes, and communication of such across departments.
·
Assist in the planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation of various programs for Adults; Promote Library services and programs by participating in community events
and partnering with community groups.
·
Coordinate program speakers and performers; Manage contracts, event dates and schedules; Assist with promotion of events (cable interviews, library presentations, create
promotional pieces).
·
Create and manage displays for the second floor area that are of interest to teens/adults and provide a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.
·
Have knowledge of current cultural and library trends.
·
Enforce public policies related to promotion, programming and library displays.
Job Requirements:
·
A minimum 5 years of experience with event/program planning.
·
MLS from an ALA accredited school preferred.
·
Bachelor’s Degree required.
·
Knowledge of adult and youth literature preferred.
·
Active reader.
·
Dedication to public service.
·
Enthusiastic, friendly, self-motivated and creative.
·
Knowledge of Internet and computer related technology.
·
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
·
Physical mobility, vision, hearing, and manual dexterity essential.
·
Maintain physical condition necessary for sitting, standing, bending, and /or walking for extended periods of time; stooping; crouching; reaching; carrying books or boxes
of books; pushing book carts; seeing; keyboarding; using the telephone; lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds; push or pull with wheeled cart up to 500 pounds; operating assigned equipment; picking up litter; spreading ice
melt.
Salary:
$18.50 - $25.75 per hour depending on qualifications
Hours:
20 hours per week

Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
·
Wednesday, 12:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
·
Thursday, 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
·
Approximately 1 weekend day per month based on library’s programming needs
