The Dorr Township and Hopkins District Libraries are seeking a shared director. Dorr Township Library is a Class III library in a growing semi-urban community with a population around 7800. Hopkins District Library is a Class II library serving multiple rural communities of a population around 4500 people. Both libraries are in close proximity to each other in North Allegan County and are members of the Lakeland Library Cooperative. They have a combined annual budget of approximately $400,000.
The Director will report to a 6 member elected board at Dorr and a 8 member appointed board at Hopkins.
Requirements
Masters in Library Science or nearly completed and a Level 2 Certification
Grant writing experience
Computer skills
Ability and desire to teach classes
Great communication skills (written and verbal)
Experience creating and maintaining a budget and preparing for and working with auditors
Skilled with: Excel, Word, Publisher, Powerpoint, Social Media, Quickbooks
Basic website maintenance
Attend and represent libraries at cooperative, local county library association meetings and State Library and Friends meetings.
Preferred:
3+ years library experience
Knowledge of millage campaigns
Fundraising experience
Compensation
Salary range of $42,000 to $53,000, working a flexible 45 hours per week between both libraries, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include paid time off, health benefits, and paid holidays.
