Transforming Teen Services – YALSA

Need ideas for teen programming? Come explore Youth Voice & Choice at this workshop via a framework for teen services called Connected Learning (CL) that uses the building blocks of teen interests, relationships with peers and caring adults and opportunities (from college and career to leadership and civic engagement). This workshop will also cover the basics of Computational Thinking (CT), which is a problem-solving framework, not coding or computer science -- and no technology is required! This is a great way for library staff who are less comfortable with tech to build STEM programs. This workshop is participatory & hands-on, and will help participants scaffold knowledge they may already have about CL and CT and use it to recognize the ways in which CT supports CL.

Free and In-Person, 10am-5pm ET at the three following locations:

Monday, November 14th at Bloomfield Township Public Library,

Tuesday, November 15th at KDL’s Kentwood Branch,

or Thursday, November 17th at Otsego County Library

Lunch will be included.

Thank you,
