Saline District Library is seeking an enthusiastic Youth Assistant to support a lively Youth Department. This part-time position (24 hours/week, including evenings and weekends) includes staffing the Youth Reference Desk, presenting programs, and helping to create a welcoming space for children and caregivers.

Strong candidates will enjoy working with children and families, have knowledge of children’s literature and public library programs, and bring energy and initiative to their work. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, experience working with children and families, and comfort with everyday technology are required.

The position starts at $21.25/hour (depending on experience) and includes prorated vacation, sick, and holiday time, plus an SDL-funded flexible spending account.
