Last night, Northville District Library hosted Parvinder Mehta, a Sikh American poet, to share poems from her recently published Anthology, On Wings of Words.
Parvinder is a born teacher and talked about her poems as she read them, making her words very accessible to the audience. Our patrons really enjoyed the program- most participants even purchased a copy of her book.
A short bio: Dr. Parvinder Mehta is a Sikh American emerging poet who earned her Ph.D. in English from Wayne State University. She currently teaches undergraduate courses in literature, Asian art, and film along with writing courses at Wayne State. Through her creative work, she hopes to allow the readers to patiently listen to whispers of social justice, echoes of our buried histories, and melodies of human potential for a more ethical and compassionate world.
