Unofficial Results for Otsego District Public Library from Millage ask this past Tuesday.

Approved for a new 1.0 Additional Operating Millage in Perpetuity

56% yes / 44% no

ODPL had not asked for additional operating funds in 30 years. The last ask was in 1996 when minimum wage was $3.35/hour and we operated a facility less than half the size of current facility.

We have been operating on 0.9502.

We are grateful for the community support on this millage to keep pace with minimum wage increases, maintain our aging facility and restore our fund balance.

Our current facility was built in 2009 and this winter is our last payment on our construction bonds for it.

This was my first millage campaign in 20+ years in libraries as I have always been at libraries with millages in perpetuity. It was a great experience and I learned a lot!
