Title: Marketing Manager

Salary Range: $54,600 - $69,300

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- With the Library Director, develops and executes an intentional Marketing Strategy informed by and responsive to the diverse communities of Muskegon County, which will integrate impact-oriented goals
into:
- Managing day-to-day activities of the department and staff,
- MADL advertising activities,
- Organizing promotional and special events,
- Business partnership promotions,
- Fundraising, including management of sponsorships and donations,
- Public/ media relations,
- Direct marketing and branding of MADL.
- Focus on development, implementation of an intentional and impact-oriented marketing plan.
- Maintenance of MADL institutional archives.
- Coordinate with MADL Management and staff regarding Branch programming promotions and outreach events.
- Provides coaching and guidance to leadership, the Board of Trustees, and staff for internal and external communications.
- Is able to initiate necessary or crucial work activities with little guidance or oversight.
- Provides leadership for the design and creation of content, including but not limited to brochures, newsletters, annual reports, website design, advertisements, posters, promotional items, and other marketing
collateral.
- Able to use and teach all marketing related platforms including, but not limited to, Adobe, Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Instagram, Facebook, Zoom, Twitter, LinkedIn, et.al.
- Trains Marketing staff, and at times other staff, on the appropriate use of social media, public interviews and other marketing related software, platforms or technologies.
- Supervises/ mentors Marketing staff by encouraging learning or training opportunities related to the Marketing Department, coordinating projects and events, time-management, and regular reporting of expectations.
- Attends all promotional events, meetings, marketing related committees, etc. as needed, which will sometimes occur outside of regular office hours and location.
- Regularly looks for and acts on appropriate learning or training opportunities for self.
- Frequently distributes both internal and external communications to Library staff and the public.
- Develops strong professional business and community partnerships.
- Creates advertising targeted toward new and existing customers that increases brand awareness and usage of services.
- Uses analytics to quantify results and marketing strategies.
- Proposes, reviews, and manages the Marketing Department budget with assistance from the Finance Department.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing related field required. A minimum of five years’ marketing experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Positively promotes and communicates the value of MADL to staff, patrons, and communities.

Have a broad and deep knowledge of Muskegon County communities and bring well established community relationships.

Provides superior customer service.

Maintains regular and punctual attendance, occasionally working a varying schedule.

Ability to travel as needed.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.

Computer proficient, including Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and other customer relationship management related software.
