Position Summary Under supervision of the Public Services Area Coordinator, the part time librarian is responsible for providing information, reference, and referral services in Adult & Youth Services, collection development activities, provides instruction in the use of print and digital resources, and develops/presents programs for adults. The current vacancy is Archives-focused and is responsible for maintaining local history collections and conducting tours of the Upton House Museum. Position Responsibilities Provides information, reference, and referral services in Adult and Youth Services. Selects, evaluates, and weeds materials for specific areas of the collection. Provides instruction in the use of print and digital resources. Develops and/or presents programs for adults. Maintains the library’s local history collections and conducts tours of the Upton House Museum. Minimum Requirements Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA college or university. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of online databases, reference resources, and public computer applications to assist the general public. Knowledge of tablet and/or mobile devices used for accessing Overdrive, Hoopla, and other digital services. Ability to work a part time schedule that includes 1 daytime shift, 2 evening shifts, every other Saturday, and every fifth Sunday during the school year.
