Good morning Cheyenne, I am not sure if this will be helpful or not, but we found ourselves in the same boat as you. After reaching out to a couple companies and finding their pricing too high for our budget, we decided to offer a Halloween makeup contest where our patrons can either work solo or form teams. We will provide makeup but they can also bring their own if wanted, and we will have a slide show going with photos of Halloween makeup ideas to help with their inspiration. As a prize for whoever wins the contest, we will put together a Halloween themed basket. Good luck on your program! Also, as a side note, you might reach out to a neighborhood salon and see if they would be able to offer something similar - they may charge considerably less than other companies. Or, put out a request to patrons in your community to see if anyone has a secret skill you are unaware of. On Tue, Aug 15, 2023 at 9:28 AM Cheyenne Smigiel via Michlib-l < michlib-l@mcls.org> wrote:
Hello,
My colleague and I are aiming to put on a special effects makeup workshop for teens in high school, this October. We have reached out to one company already, but found their prices to be a bit out of our budget. If anyone has done something like this before in their library, we would appreciate recommendations for businesses who offer this type of class / workshop.
Any other tips and suggestions are also welcome.
Thank you!
