The Ann Arbor District Library has launched a locally focused and publicly owned publishing imprint called Fifth Avenue Press. Fifth Avenue Press supports the local writing community and promotes the production of original content in all genres. The library invests in the production of each author's work, providing project management, editing, graphic design, layout and other assistance as needed, with the author retaining the copyright for their work

Fifth Avenue Press will release its first nine books at a reception on November 5, which will include a book of poetry, two memoirs, a murder mystery and two picture books. The second wave of Fifth Avenue Press projects are already being accepted and the AADL looks forward to helping more local writers achieve their dreams of completing their work.
