Hello Michlib-l readers,

We are extending these two workshops to anyone who wishes to attend, and there is no cost unless you want a box lunch for $15.  Deadline for registration is this Friday, 9/25.  See the attached flyer and example reports, and go to http://mmll.org/workshops.html for more information.

Hello MMLL Members - please share information about these opportunities coming up soon.  Registration is open to anyone, and I encourage you all to reach out to educators to interest them in the afternoon MeL database sessions.  I encourage all directors to attend the morning session - very useful information about generating statistical reports for any number of purposes, especially for Board reports on your collections and services over time as well as your library compared to others of similar size or geographic location, etc.

Hello All,

The upcoming workshop in two locations, Sept. 30 in Traverse City, Oct. 1 in Cadillac, is open to all comers.  Attendees can choose to come for only the morning, only the afternoon, or all day.  It is an excellent opportunity for you to reach out to any collaborative partners or your K-12 educators for the afternoon program that runs from 1-4 and covers MeL databases and the vast array of content laying in wait for discovery by any Michigan resident via an Internet connection.

The morning option is more targeted to public libraries, as it is learning to make reports, charts, comparisons, etc. using the state aid report information we must submit annually.  There is longitudinal data to mine in order to look at trends, and lots of data fields to compare between libraries in all areas of the state.  See some examples in the attached file.

Please share broadly the attached workshop flyer.  Thanks!
