For my Pokemon Club, I started doing a Type a month. I'd pick three Pokemon from that Type and we'd do crafts/activities based off those Pokemon. Every time the child complete a craft they get to "catch" that Pokemon (just a cut out image of it, laminated) and get an entry into their Pokedex (a red folder with card pockets). These entries are Pokemon cards I create based on the Pokemon I've chosen. I also give kids time to trade cards. My very first Pokemon club, not everyone was pleased with the crafts and activities part but I have received a "loyal following" and have been doing it for two years now and I love it. Our library currently has it set up as a self-run club, where kids can bring any pokemon related stuff they have and hang out with fellow pokemon trainers. We also provide boxes of cards that kids can choose from to keep each time the club meets.
I am looking for any suggestions on things to add to our club! What has worked for your library's pokemon club?
