Assistant Director

 

The Manistee County Library is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong leadership, managerial and supervisory skills to be our new Assistant Director. The Manistee County Library is a county-wide system with a main library and five branches. The ideal candidate is optimistic about the future of libraries and is a proven manager who can work collaboratively with library staff to deliver an exceptional customer service experience.

 

Under the direction of the Executive Director of Library Services, assists with the overall management of the Library System. This position is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of Branch Managers. Assumes responsibility for library operations in the absence of the Executive Director of Library Services. This position requires some evening and weekend hours. Full-time with excellent benefits.

 

Education:  Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school preferred. Bachelor’s Degree required.

 

Experience:  Three – five years of experience in a public library with demonstrated knowledge of the use of an automated library system and changing technology. Two years of supervisory experience is required.  Supervisory experience in a multi-branch system is preferred.

 

 

Salary: $40,760-$44,944
