Summer Reading Updates

LM’s website has updated information and links to many of the activities included with the kits, so even if you do not have a kit reserved, don’t let that stop you from participating. New duplicates of kits will be added to LM’s circulating kit collection soon, just waiting on a few last activity supplies.

Reading Rewards: Chipotle Reading Rewards applications are open, through February 28^th! Also, coming soon, a couple of planetariums in Michigan have agreed to offer summer reading rewards coupons and I’ll have those posted as soon as they’re available. Stay tuned!

Summer Reading Grants: Dollar General Literacy Foundation applications are open, through February 21^st, worth a maximum of $3,000.

Ready to Read Michigan

2019’s Touch the Brightest Star Programming Guide is available online! Get ready to celebrate “March is Reading Month” with this great read-aloud and schedule some outreach visits to share the book. Don’t forget to register for the webinar with Jenifer Strauss (see top link). Grant: Infy Makers Award open through February 21^st, for organizations providing maker programming for kids and teens – a $10,000 grant! Submissions should be made with a 90 second video clip.
