The Lapeer District Library (LDL) board is seeking a good-humored, creative, forward thinking, progressive library director due to the current director’s retirement. LDL is a small and rural Class 6 library system located in Michigan’s Thumb, serving 60,006 residents in twelve townships and one city. The library’s eight buildings are located in the City of Lapeer and in outlying villages. https://library.lapeer.org/about-us/locations-hours The library operates with a $2.1M budget from a voted millage, penal fines, and state aid, and has a staff of 46 that includes 13 full-time positions (5 MLS librarians). The board is governing, and appointed for four year terms. The position requires a Master’s degree in Library Science or Information Science (MLS or MLIS) from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited school, and five years of progressively-responsible experience in library administration.
