Wayne State University rests on Waawiyaataanong, also referred to as Detroit, the ancestral and contemporary homeland of the Three Fires Confederacy. These sovereign lands were granted by the Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi, and Wyandot nations, in 1807, through the Treaty of Detroit. Wayne State University affirms Indigenous sovereignty and honors all tribes with a connection to Detroit. With our Native neighbors, WSU can advance educational equity and promote a better future for the earth and all people.

We are beginning the admittedly daunting task of creating a procedures manual for our library. Just to clarify: this is not a policy manual - we already have that!
Currently, our procedures are scattered: some are up-to-date, some are not; some are written down, some exist only in emails, and some have been shared verbally with one person but not the next. You get the idea!
If anyone is willing to share their existing procedures manual or has any guidance on how to approach creating one, I would greatly appreciate it. Any examples, tips, or best practices would be helpful as we start organizing and documenting our processes.
Thank you so much for your time and input!
Ann

Hello,
It seems that many were interested in the Ingram webinar on horror books
from independent presses. The links below will let you access the recording
of the webinar and the resources Celia Mattison provided, including the
book list.
I highly recommend the webinar, I greatly enjoyed it.
No need to reply all on this.
Have a great weekend,
Elyse

Hello Elyse!
Thank you so much for joining us for *From the Shadows: Discover Subversive
Horror from Independent Presses.*
It was a pleasure to be able to share these wonderful, frightening,
strange, and downright unusual titles with you.
You can revisit the titles on Edelweiss
<https://t.e2ma.net/click/yfxj2i/ibjt3clh/y3j110>, iPage
<https://t.e2ma.net/click/yfxj2i/ibjt3clh/ewk110>, and downloadable as a
spreadsheet <https://t.e2ma.net/click/yfxj2i/ibjt3clh/uol110>. You can also
check out a recording of the event
<https://t.e2ma.net/click/yfxj2i/ibjt3clh/ahm110>*.*
A certificate of attendance is linked to download
<https://t.e2ma.net/click/yfxj2i/ibjt3clh/q9m110>.
And many of you asked about the availability of these titles in Spanish.
Often our language/world rights are limited, but I’m passionate about
serving our hispanohablante readers. More Spanish versions are a priority
for all of our publishers, so stay tuned. In the meantime, don't miss
Charco's OriginalES series, which offers their Spanish language titles in
the original text: available on Edelweiss
<https://t.e2ma.net/click/yfxj2i/ibjt3clh/61n110>, iPage
<https://t.e2ma.net/click/yfxj2i/ibjt3clh/muo110>, and their website
<https://t.e2ma.net/click/yfxj2i/ibjt3clh/2mp110>.
I'll be in touch about any future webinars. Reach out if there are
categories you'd like us to tackle.
And finally, if you didn't already sign up for our Publisher Match Program
<https://t.e2ma.net/click/yfxj2i/ibjt3clh/ifq110>, now is your chance! Tell
us about your library's needs and your reading preferences, and you'll
receive all the galleys you could want, directly from our publishers.
Whew! That's everything. I hope to see many of you at PLA! Stop by booth
#1332 and say hi. I'll be wearing my Latin Horror t-shirt 😱
Yours in spookiness,
Celia

Hello Library Land!
Happy Friday. Nothing kicks off the weekend like your printer sounding like
"Bigfoot hitting a tree" (description courtesy of my circulation clerk),
and the smell of burning ink. It is off now, and I'm sure my patrons will
be more than thrilled on Monday when I put an out-of-order sign up again.
Currently we have a Brother MFC 3770CDW which has served us well for about
5 1/2 years. However, there was an issue with the driver about a month ago,
which I thought we'd fixed. But after a bunch of ink smudging, and funny
smells, and now loud clanging sounds, I think it might be time to retire
this guy and get something new. Just in time for my annual budget meeting,
too!
For a bit more context:
- We're a Class 1 rural library with a small space, so the printer
functions as staff printing as well as public printing.
- Ability to fax things is a must :D
So, please, tell me what printers work for you! Do you have a subscription
program? Do you love/ hate a certain brand of printer for some reason? Are
some printers more finicky than others?
Have a great weekend!
