In the quest for smarter, faster, stronger learners, everyone from anxious parents to corporatized school systems seems to be exploring technologically-enabled instruction and data-based decision-making. But with facial recognition and behavioral analytics reaching critical levels, are we creating unalterable data representations of young people to their – and our own – detriment? This webinar will explore emerging data-related phenomena such as social cooling, steganographic approaches, and politicization of presence, and identify key considerations for those who help young people negotiate privacy concerns face-to-face and online.
