The Manistee County Library is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong leadership,
administrative, and organizational skills to be our new Assistant Director. The Manistee County Library is a county-wide system with a main library and five branches. The ideal candidate is optimistic about the future of libraries and is a proven manager who can work collaboratively with the Library Board and Staff.
The Assistant Director will be proactive, highly organized and dedicated. This person will report to the Executive Director and will assist with daily operations, HR needs, and the overall management of the Library System. This position is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of Branch Managers, and assumes responsibility for library operations in the absence of the Executive Director.
This position requires some evening and weekend hours. Full-time with excellent benefits.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required.
Experience: Three to five years of experience in a public library with demonstrated knowledge of the use of an automated library system and changing technology. Two years of supervisory experience is required.
