46th Annual Used Book Sale coming to Bay County Civic Arena August 12-14 BAY COUNTY, MI--One of the largest used book sales in Michigan is back! The Friends of the Bay County Libraries will fill the rink at the Bay County Civic Arena, 4231 Shrestha Drive in Bay City, with thousands of items such as former best-sellers, special interest, children's materials, reference sources, magazines, CDs, audiobooks, DVDs and more at the following times: Thursday, August 12: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm; Friday, August 13: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm; Saturday, August 14: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. All items are priced to move, with books ranging $0.50 to $2.00. The Saturday all-day clearance lets you fill a box or bag of any items for only $4.00! For your shopping convenience, everything is grouped by category. New this year, the Bay County Library System will have a booth on Thursday and Friday where you can purchase book bags to carry your finds for only $1.00 and pick up information on upcoming events and services. Everyone who stops at the booth can register to win a $50 Meijer gift card. Bay County residents who sign up for a first time BCLS library card at the sale will get a FREE book bag along with the gift card entry (I.D. showing your address is required). The gift card winner will be contacted to arrange pickup after the drawing on Monday, August 16. A 501(c)3 nonprofit, the Friends of the Bay County Libraries uses all proceeds from the book sale to buy equipment, materials, and services for the public not made possible through the Bay County Library System's operating budget. Earnings from previous sales have funded such projects as children's reading programs, library publications, visits by children's authors, annual New York Times best-selling author appearances at the State Theatre, and community meeting room furniture.
