READsquared
The 2023 CSLP summer reading program is available for import into your READsquared site. For each age group the import includes the following, and you can add/remove as needed:
How to import the full programs:
In the administrative control room site (yoursitename.readsquared/controlroom) go to Programs > Program Theme > Import Programs.
Instructions are also available in your knowledge
base.
These projects are made possible by grant funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) administered by the State of Michigan through the Library of Michigan.
Intellectual Freedom Programming Toolkit
Raising awareness of intellectual freedom and information literacy among children is important, and not just during Banned Books Week. This toolkit provides
practical tips and sample programming that incorporate these topics in fun and engaging ways.
Just like sneaking healthy food into a kid’s meal, these techniques will enrich the work you already do as a librarian without disrupting your programming routine.
ConnectedLibFEST
Registration is now open for ConnectedLibFEST,
the first ever connected learning event specifically focused on small and rural libraries. This free virtual experience takes place on Wednesday and Thursday, March 15 and 16, 2023 from 1 PM to 5 PM Eastern. It is hosted by the University of Washington
and University of Maryland ConnectedLib teams that created the ConnectedLib
Toolkit.
Each day brings together library staff, researchers, and community members to learn from and with each other about bringing Connected Learning to small and rural library settings. Small and rural libraries are already using the principles of connected learning
in their work. They do this by building relationships with youth, community members, and stakeholders; fostering interests of teens through library services; and creating opportunities for academic and life success.

Download the Free 2023 Día Reading Lists!
Celebrate Día this year with engaging stories representing a variety of cultures and backgrounds for children from birth through 8th grade. The Día reading lists are free to download and distribute to your
patrons to share the #bookjoy! The lists are a great supplement to your Día programming and, on their own, can direct families to a diverse world of reading.
Don't forget the National
Día Program Registry. Tell us about your programs and promote them on the registry.
