Hello

When I called the liquor commission asking about this- basically any event where alcohol is served in the service of raising money- requires a permit. That includes fundraising I believe.

I called LARA to verify what is necessary. If it is done purely in the service of education, not fundraising and is of a small quantity no permit needed. (IE a program on brewing or about wine)

I would call them and find out just to be sure:

Hello Great Library Brain!

We are planning a special kick off event for a fund raising campaign.  One of my board members asked about serving wine? (not selling it, just providing it for free)

I’m hoping someone out there has all the legal details regarding what is involved in doing this?

Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated.  I’m not completely sold on this idea but I thought I would investigate the details.

Thanks so much !

Sheila
