Hi Library Land! I was at a meeting at our local Child Advocacy Center yesterday, and a discussion came up about the uptick of children and teens being propositioned by strangers on social media, particularly Snapchat and TikTok. Many mentioned that there is a strong internet safety message being taught to students in lower elementary, but that drops off completely toward middle school and high school. To that end, has anyone partnered with schools and/or local PTOs to provide workshops about internet safety for older students? What programs or resources did you use? I think this is an incredibly important issue and I would love to be able to provide education on keeping your children (and probably the adults, too!) safe while using these apps. Thanks for any input! I will compile responses for anyone interested. [cid:image001.jpg@01DA751E.49042CD0] Marla Drury Juvenile & Young Adult Services Librarian Alma Public Library 500 E.
