The library is located in the southern part of the scenic Upper Peninsula of Michigan, just twenty miles north of the city of Menominee, “where the best of Michigan begins.”Opportunities for outdoor activities abound year-round and the “UP” offers easy access to thousands of acres of unspoiled forests, numerous natural waterfalls, and miles and miles of glorious shoreline! Proven personnel management skills, a comprehensive understanding of library finances and budgeting and excellent overall financial management ability, coupled with a flexible and energetic approach is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to comfortably represent the library in the community are key. In addition, comprehensive knowledge regarding current technology and its use in public libraries and a thorough understanding of current public library operations and services is essential. *The Position requires *a Master’s degree in library science or library and information science degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association.*In addition*, the position *requires* a minimum of four years management and supervisory experience in a library setting.
