Duties include but are not limited to:

• Provides services to children of Lincoln Township Public Library service area
• Provides story times
• Plans and implements the Summer Reading Program
• Develops and maintains the collection of children’s literature to meet the needs of the community
• Provides outreach to organizations which serve children
• Compiles reading lists on assigned subjects and prepares books displays
• Works the Circulation Desk and the Children’s reference desk, answers reference questions, and interacts positively with the public in person, on the phone and online
• Provides reference and advisory services to customers in the area of children’s literature.
• Provides assistance in study-oriented activities and in developing children’s reading interests
• Plans, schedules, conducts and evaluates children’s programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school is required 
• Knowledge of children’s literature, services and programming is required
• Professional experience providing services to, and interacting with, children is a plus
• Strong computer skills (software, database, PC’s) is a plus
• Good people skills and an outgoing personality

Starting pay: $30,000 per year; Free Health Insurance included
