Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provides services to children of Lincoln Township Public Library service area
- Provides story times
- Plans and implements the Summer Reading Program
- Develops and maintains the collection of children’s literature to meet the needs of the community
- Provides outreach to organizations which serve children
- Compiles reading lists on assigned subjects and prepares books displays
- Works the Circulation Desk and the Children’s reference desk, answers reference questions, and interacts positively with the public in person, on the phone and online
- Provides reference and advisory services to customers in the area of children’s literature.
- Provides assistance in study-oriented activities and in developing children’s reading interests
- Plans, schedules, conducts and evaluates children’s programs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school is required
- Knowledge of children’s literature, services and programming is required
- Professional experience providing services to, and interacting with, children is a plus
- Strong computer skills (software, database, PC’s) is a plus
- Good people skills and an outgoing personality
Starting pay: $30,000 per year; Free Health Insurance included
