The Auburn Hills Public Library seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Information Technology Technician with a commitment to excellent public service to join our team.
Information Technology Technician (Full-time 40 hours week)
Salary: $42,000-$54,800 a year

Hours:
40 hours per week, includes days/evenings and occasional weekends
Job Qualifications:
- Associate Degree with concentration in computer science or equivalent studies
- Ability to create and maintain an effective working relationship
- Ability to serve the public with courtesy and tact
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prepare records and reports
- Successfully pass a background check & pre-employment screening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of library systems and services preferred
- Experience in IT support and website management tools
- Knowledge of computer network hardware and software
- Knowledge in dealing with cyber security best practices
- Knowledge of antivirus software and malware
remediation
- Strong hardware troubleshooting skills and familiarity with remote
support
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee Library’s network infrastructure including firewall, servers and switches
- Maintain Envisionware self-checks and updates to the system
- Maintain the Library’s public computers and loanable devices including backups, updates and anti-virus software.
- Maintain the Library’s email system through Office 365
- Maintain the Library’s VoIP phone system
- Protect the Library from cyber security threats
- Assists staff in routine
troubleshooting
- Interact with the public and assist them with technology questions and issues
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventory database for all Library equipment
- Upgrade computer software, hardware, and other equipment
- Collect, evaluate, and report on usage statistics and trends
- Develop and revise user training manuals and procedures
- Communicate changes in technology to the Director and other staff
- Investigate, plan, and implement new projects to move the Library forward
- Work alongside with part-time IT Assistant(s)
- Serve as the face for the Library in outreach events within the community
- Other duties as assigned
