Gender Queer is housed in our YA collection for two reasons:  first, because the book primarily covers the narrator/author's childhood and teen years, and also because we don't have an adult graphic novel collection.  All Boys Aren't Blue is also in our YA collection, even though more of the book takes place in the author's adulthood, rather than covering primarily, as in Gender Queer, the author's childhood and teen years.  Both were ordered by our teen librarian, so that probably played a role, too.  We haven't had any complaints.

Subject: [Michlib-l] Teen vs Adult shelves

Hi all,
For those libraries that own Gender Queer and All Boys Aren't Blue, are you shelving these books in the teen or adult section? If you're comfortable sharing why your library chose the location it did, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you,
