The results of the request for 1.25 mills for 8 years by the Clarkston Independence District Library are as follows: Yes: 5494 (68.18%) No: 2564 (31.82) Not only does this millage provide our library with stable funding for the next 8 years, it also completes the final step in re-establishing this library as a District Library, thus releasing our library from being trapped under a law that was repealed in 1976. This has been quite a journey for us. I am grateful to our Library Board, Friends, Staff and community for seeing this through, as well as to the library community who is always available with wisdom and support. Thank you everyone!
