POSITION:        Part-Time, Academic Resource Coordinator

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Academic Resources

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program preferred. Master’s degree required
• Previous experience in teaching and/or tutoring required
• High level of computer literacy and competent in Microsoft applications required
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must have working knowledge of reference, library instruction, and technology based resources

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide faculty and student (individually and in groups) with learning resources and technology services
• Work with PALnet in the consortial environment and be familiar with consortial issues
• Maintain the collection development process
• Develop ways to promote technology and eBooks to faculty and students
• Perform circulation, technical services, and interlibrary loan functions as needed
• Participate in appropriate system and campus committees, sub committees, projects, and activities
• Explore and evaluate emerging technologies that have potential value for teaching and learning
• Other duties as assigned

 

WORK SCHEDULE:     Flexible schedule up to 28 hours per week

                                          Some evening and weekend hours may be required.

                                          

STARTING DATE:        September 2, 2014

 

COMPENSATION:       Hourly rate based on education, experience, and existing wage

                                          rates for similar positions at Baker College.
