We found two local children's organizations that gladly took all of our non-religious children's books and for adult books there is a group that holds a huge book sale every spring, taking over an entire shopping mall, that takes anything.  However, they have very limited drop off days/times/months so we sometimes resort to recycling.  :\

Subject: [Michlib-l] Book Sale Remains

ThriftBooks broke up with us.  Wound is fresh.  Still hurting.  Can't discuss.  Scotch will get me through it.

What do you do with the books that remain after your book sale?
