I feel like I need to elaborate on what I said about cleaning books. Because we are a small library, it is pretty social.  Working as a team gives the volunteers a chance to visit. Also, the children's area has children coming and going which is also a lovely interaction. We also have other volunteers who clean the books, dvds, cds, etc. so it is just one of many jobs we have volunteers do.

Barbara, This is a great question! What about having them read to children or adults or participate in assisting or leading a discussion group such as a book club or ESL Group? Jaema
