Greetings Great Brain!

As more businesses move toward ACH payments, our library is trying to set some procedures in place so we can utilize these. My core questions are: 

How do you handle the approval of said payments? 
Does your board approve regular ACH payments yearly? Say for your phone bill? 
Do they need to pre-approve all ACH payments?
Do they approve them afterwards as though they were just another check? What does that look like? 

My financial manager and I want to handle this appropriately and with security in mind. Our auditors have proven to be somewhat unhelpful with the nitty gritty details.
