Amy -
We did a scavenger hunt this year to kick off summer reading. It was intended as a "walk around town", and was done in partnership with local businesses and sponsored by a local school fitness boosters group.

We themed it around the picture book "Miss Moon: Wise Words from a Dog Governess", and assigned one of her "lessons" to each participating business or location. Participants completed an activity at the business in order to receive a small card with that "lesson" printed on it.  Those who collected all the lessons received a small prize back at the library.  Each location also displayed a laminated sheet from the book, a bit like a Storywalk.  We plan to use those sheets for a Storywalk here at the library this fall.

I'm attaching a few of the files we used.  It was very popular and we've already promised to do it again next year.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Good afternoon:
My library is looking at hosting a scavenger hunt this fall.  My staff want to know if any other library has done this, did it work (or not), and what kind of things did you have them look for.
Thanks in advance!
