The cards for patrons who are within our district don't expire, per se. We do have them set to flip over to "Inactive" status after 3 years of non-use. Then if they return, we get their updated information. For non-residents, the card expires one year from when it was entered into the system, and they have to pay the small fee to have it reinstated.

Thank you,

Subject: [Michlib-l] Library Card Expiration

Hi! I have a quick question for the group: how long do your library cards stay active and valid before you require the patron to renew them? Or maybe you don’t even have an expiration date?

Thanks!!

John
