Dear Wise Listservers! A patron came into our Library seeking a book he read in the summer of 2008. It was in paperback in 2008, and had a red cover. This is what he remembers about the book: - It was either a novel with five interconnected stories, or a collection of 5 related short stories - A main character was closely involved in the rubber industry, possibly a rubber plantation, in Thailand - possibly during British colonial rule, possibly referred to primarily as "Siam" instead of "Thailand" - It was a love story - He thinks the author was female - It could have been YA, but he's not positive It is not any of these titles: - The Falcon of Siam - anything by Amitav Ghosh - The Harmony Silk Factory - Cutting for Stone Any guesses would be appreciated!
