A lot of the Mysteries I'm seeing recommended are more mid-grade and might skew too young for a 17 year old. Below are some good mysteries for Teens that I recommend on a regular basis. - Jackaby Series by William Ritter- supernatural mystery (sort of sherlock-esque but with ghosts and monsters) - Chasing Jack the Ripper by Carrie Maniscalco- historical mystery (there are sequels) - Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson (trilogy)- modern day, easy read set at a boarding school where a unsolved murder happened years ago and a new murder occurs and they might all be connected. - One of Us is Lying by Karen M.McManus (and sequel One of us is next)- A boy dies during detention and the 4 other kids in detention with him are suspects, all with motive and secrets. NYT best-seller and very popular. - I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga (first in a series)- Main character's Dad is a convicted serial killer. In order to prove it's not a familiar trait he helps police try to solve new murders with his insight into killers from living with one for years. Good evening:
I am hoping the collective wisdom can help with some book suggestions. I have a patron who is looking for mystery titles/series for a 17 year old boy. She gathered his name from DHHS, and knows nothing about him. She is not sure if his family has any Internet access, so she does not want to purchase an Amazon gift card.
Thank you in advance for all of your assistance.
