Thank you, Erin Ross from Buchanan District Library... the mystery has been solved! I have a very happy patron (who happens to be my aunt, lol).

This book was originally published in 1946 as "The Pedlar of Colored Threads," later reissued as "The Peddler of Colored Threads."

Thank you to everyone who offered title suggestions and recommended sites to search. 🙂

Good morning!

I am on a mission to find a book that a patron thinks is from the 1950's (she would have read it in the mid to late 50's). Here is her description...

"... it was an old children's paper type book. It is about trying to capture a dragon with colored stings, or the dragon shot out colored strings. The dragon started out mean, not sure if it became nice or not. It was not a Golden book. Had ships and sea; Asian people."

Thank you in advance for any suggestions or recommendations of where to look. Please reply off-list. 🙂
