The Bonisteel Library department at Interlochen Arts Academy seeks to hire a part-time Academic Librarian year round who would serve the many arts and academic programs at both Interlochen Arts Camp and Interlochen Arts Academy in a variety of ways. This position will work closely with the library director and other library staff members in order to provide a welcoming library environment that is conducive to active and participatory learning, resource-based instructional practices, and collaboration with teaching staff. The ideal candidate will possess an MLIS degree, has previous experience working in a library, easily adapts to new technologies and is proficient in using and teaching library technologies. Evening and weekend hours will be required.    

Major Duties & Responsibilities 
    •    Models effective strategies for developing multiple literacies 
    •    Provides a high level of reference to students, faculty and staff
    •    Encourages the use of instructional technology
    •    Evaluates, promotes, and uses existing and emerging technologies
    •    Circulates Academic Library items
    •    Understands copyright, fair use, and licensing of intellectual property 
    •    Performs cataloging of materials, book processing, cleaning up of data
    •    Manages community service students 
    •    Processes MelCat books
    •    Shelves books and shelf maintenance when needed
    •    Works with library staff on special projects
    •    Collaborates with other library staff
