Michigan Humanities is thrilled to be hosting author Priya Parker for a free, public event at The Henry Ford Museum on October 8. ​Through a conversation between Parker and Michigan Humanities' President and CEO, Jennifer Rupp, you'll be inspired to gather in community with your peers, learn why gathering is essential to the humanities, and be introduced to Michigan Humanities' new statewide initiative that helps bring intentional gatherings to communities near you—the Great Michigan Gathering. Each attendee will receive a free copy of Priya's book, The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters, and have the opportunity for her to sign it at the event.

Along with the in-person event, we are encouraging libraries across Michigan to become Gathering Partners and host a watch party of the event livestream on October 8, so that more Michiganders can join the conversation.
