Dear Library Colleagues, The Pinckney Community Public Library is hosting its second-annual fundraising event this May! We present: “PINCKNEY IN MAY: BIDS, BITES, BEATS & BOOKS” on Saturday, May 16 from 5-9:30pm. Carpet Depot of Pinckney is sponsoring the Midnight Special Band, our featured musical group for the evening. Also, another generous patron, Michelle Vedder of Real Estate One, will be sponsoring the event's Souvenir Program Booklet. The evening will include a concert, food, beverages, a silent auction and lots of fun. The new library building once again takes pride of place during the evening's events. The community is invited to explore all the amenities the updated library has to offer. The silent auction portion, which starts at 5pm, will take place in the library's big program room, while the concert, refreshments and libations will be available in the main part of the library, starting at 7pm. Silent auction items include donations of: framed art work by local artists, gift baskets, gift certificates for local services, and of course books! Refreshments featured are local micro-brews, a variety of wines and designer desserts and savories by local restaurants and bakers. Only 100 tickets are available and are expected to go quickly. All proceeds from this event will go towards growing the library's collection, which includes items such as physical books, e-books, audio-books, magazines, cd's, dvd's newspapers, Newsbank databases, genealogy resources and more. Event tickets are available at the library in advance for $20 each ($2 processing fee for online purchases. All major credit cards accepted.) Tickets at at the door go for $25 on Saturday, May 16. Tickets include: concert admission, silent auction bidder packet and hors d'oeuvres. (Beer & wine available for purchase. Must be 21 and older to enter.)
