When I worked at the Flint Institute of Arts, the Founder’s Society had an appraisal day as a fundraiser. The fee was relatively small – $5-$10 an item, which was used to offset the cost of the appraiser – and they used someone from DuMouchelles in Detroit: https://www.dumoart.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoomS7b5DuqTrcLSAiqoIw9FbgHZfPeDeLGod3YeSdz0UcEwiZYD

My suggestion would be to contact the Muskegon Museum of Art, Grand Rapids Art Museum, and/or the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, and ask their head of collections/head curator who the museum suggests.

Hope that helps!

Subject: [Michlib-l] Antique appraising

Has anyone had an antique appraisal night at their library? I have wanted to host an antique appraisal session at our library, just for small items. I can seem to find anyone or group to conduct the program.
